Rocky Mountain Vertex 70

108 kg

Hardtail

Highlights: Vertex’s 178cms frame is made from Rocky Mountain aluminum tubing (they call this Form). It is not an exaggeration to say that the downtube and top tube shapes are unique. Untrained eyes will be able to see that the downtubes are designed to accommodate the various load requirements of the headtube and bottom bracket. The downtube is internally butted and twists, resulting in a nearly 6 cm wide bottom bracket. This manipulation eliminates the need to use external gussets. Rocky Mountain riders are used to seeing traditional seatstays and chainstays that offer great tire clearance.

Best quote: Tempo climbs were a treat thanks to the narrow bar. The bike cooled down and maintained a steady line. For the best climbs, we got back on the saddle and switched to a spinner gear. The bikes weight distribution is amazing. Riders did not have to do much to maintain the front end or to slide about looking for traction.

Bottom line: What makes an aluminum hardtail versatile? Simple. You want to race cross-country? This bike can do it. You want to race 24 hours? This bike is great for your partner. You don’t have to race, but you want a bike that is responsive and lively that doesn’t require you to be an Olympian. The bike isn’t designed to punish riders who have a job. Don’t want to carry around too many bikes that are not necessary for your riding. The Vertex 70 is simple. You’ve been dealt four aces by the Rocky Mountain Vertex70.
